God Bless the USA

Hello my fabulous bloggy friends :) It is a beautiful sunny day here in central Wisconsin FINALLY! I'm a busy little bee here at the Gromala household today getting ready for my littlest guys first birthday this weekend and some out of town guests. I'm super excited to be having one of my best friends that I met in college bring her family for a visit!!! Speaking of excited, yesterday I got happy mail from K Andrew Designs and I just couldn't wait to play lastnight.

I knew exactly what I was going to make because I had been at Archiver's the day before and picked up some of Bo-Bunny's new patriotic line. So naturally because of the holiday spirit I picked some up to go with Kristal's Freedom Isn't Free stamp set. A perfect Match! I'm also very excited to make some parade candy bags for the 6 or 7 kiddo's that we will be taking to the Parade on Saturday morning with this set but you will have to wait to see those. So here is my card....
I used my Amy Chomas Creations Silhouette gel pen holder to draw that wonderful star burst banner from the Silhouette store and then used some yellow stickles to add some bling. I just love how I was able to curve Kristal's stamp to fit in the banner portion :) That adorable little firecracker is a Peachy Keen image that Mrs. Kathy J. sent to me, isn't he just the cutest little stick of dynamite! I will be linking this card up over on the Peachy Keen Blog for their sketch challenge #55 since that is where I got my inspiration from for this card from.

Now don't forget that it is only Wednesday and you have till Saturday at 11:59 PST to link up with Kristal's Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky. This weeks challenge is Get PENNED and Kristal's message is perfect this week!

Now I hope you all have a Simply Fabulous Day :)

Shell-o

Hehehe, I'm just in love with today's card :) What a cute little boy and turtle! I have to admit I was a bit intimidated by this stamp at first, so bare and so much coloring. Coloring scares me because I'm not that great at it, now don't get me wrong I can stay within the lines but things never turn out how I see them in my mind... well this one turned out and I broke all kinds of rules, hahaha. I used colored pencils (crayola because I'm cheap like that), copics and chalks. That cute little boy and turtle are from a local artist near me, her company is Door County Rubber Stamps and I bought a few while I was on vacation last week because you know a girl can't go in vacation without checking out the stamp stores in the area, lol. When I saw him I knew I wanted to use him with K Andrew Designs Art Stamps Splashtastic Summer set :) Isn't that sentiment just perfect for this?? At least $1 from this set benefits the Autism Research Institute.

Now don't forget you still have 4 days to link up to our Simply Sunday challenge this week and its all about pens! Go {HERE} to see all the entries so far.

Kristal is also looking for bloggers to feature on her blog now too! If you are interested check out the details {HERE}!

Simply Sunday with K Andrews Designs and Amy Chomas

Welcome to another Simply Sunday at Getting Cricky! I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend, I know that I sure did :) As we speak I'm on my way home from the first couples only vacation we have taken since our kiddos were born almost 4 years ago. How refreshing!

Here is something else that is refreshing for you. K Andrew Design Art Stamps which donates $1 from EVERY package sold (wholesale or retail) to very deserving charities! How awesome is that? Kristal has researched all of her charities very carefully to make sure the monies are actually going to the people in need and all of them give at least 85% of monies received to the people in need. So you can know that every time you purchase from K Andrew Designs you will be getting awesome quality stamps and you will be helping someone in need!

Now this week Kristal asked us to make a project using pens for our challenge. I had NO problem with this challenge! Believe me when I say I AM IN LOVE with Amy Chomas Creations pen holder for the Silhouette!!! Her pens write so smoothly and catch every detail of your design with ease :) I love that I can turn any image that I would normally cut on my Silhouette into a drawing. Amy and her Husband also make embossing kits, sharpie, micro sharpie and pen holders for both the Silhouette and Cricut. Please make sure you stop over and check her out. I promise you won't be let down! So do you want to see what I made using these two wonderful products this week??

For this fabulous card I used K Andrew Design Art Stamp set Amazing You. This set goes to benefit Doorways for Women & Families ( an organization helping those escape and survive domestic violence). I think this is my favorite set Kristal has put out yet. I love the size and font Kristal used to make it! If you are interested in purchasing I urge you to go {HERE} :)

Now to give you a better look at how wonderfully these pens work I took a close up for you. Look at ALL the detail they captured. I choose this image not only because I love Samantha Walker but also because it was one of the most detailed ones I could find. This image can be found in the Silhouette store for only .99 cents. How can you beat that? I used some color to pop certain parts of the design and my Viva Decor pearl pens (LOVE them too).

I hope you all enjoyed my project this week and that I've convinced you that you need to purchase
K Andrew Design Art Stamps and Amy Chomas pens, lol! Not really my goal but I sure hope you will love the products that I love so much!

Now go on and have a GREAT week! Love your life, yourself and everyone around you! Make everything you do the BEST!

Don't forget to join us this week at Getting Cricky for our Simply Sunday Challenge, Penned!

You Float my Boat

The very first time I saw the Splashtastic Summer set from K Andrew Designs I noticed this sentiment and knew what I wanted to make with it. You can head over to Kristal's online store here if you are interested in purchasing this set. I wouldn't wait too long I've heard rumors of her first order of stamps selling very well! I wouldn't want you to have to wait for the second shipment, EEEK! {Here is the link to Kristal's online store}

Since my Husband and I are headed out of town this weekend for a 5 year Anniversary vacation I wanted to make a card to leave with my in-laws to give to my oldest son while we are gone. I think it turned out pretty darn cute if you ask me!

Now don't forget to stop by Kristal's blog Getting Cricky and join in both the Link up the Love Party and the Simply Sunday Face It challenge this week. There is so much fun going on over there right now :)

Sorry to be so short this evening but I have a lot to get done before we leave tomorrow. I hope you all enjoy your week! Don't forget to stop back here to see this weeks Simply Sunday Challenge with a theme of Penned. Make a creations with some portion of it that uses pens.

Simply Sunday Getting Cricky Challenge

Welcome to another Getting Cricky Simply Sunday challenge :) I hope you joined us and enjoyed the Ustream and Hop on Friday! If you missed it you can still hop through the list in the post below and see all the fabulous projects the DT made.

This weeks challenge at Getting Cricky was to use faces. Well that gave me the perfect excuse to ink up some of my Peachy Keen stamps. I am a huge fan of Peachy Keen stamps and its even better that they are about 45 minutes from my house. I've had the extreme pleasure of meeting and getting to know the Peachy Queen herself,  Mrs. Kathy J. She is truly just as sweet as our friend Kristal over at Getting Cricky :) I felt so surrounded by warmness as I created my card thinking of these girls!

I saw one of these tent cards made up the other night while I was hopping around the bloggy world looking for some inspiration and just couldn't wait to make one.  Now make sure you read through becasue at the end of I will tell you who my HOP winner is... So let's get a move on to the project that I had SOOO much fun making. I am in love with this card really! I even took a necklace apart because I didn't have any jewelry findings on hand to make the hanging flower.

I took lots of pictures so you could see all the important parts really well and  also so you could see all the dimension on this card. The sentiment on this card is from Food for Thoughts by K Andrew Designs you can order it by clicking on the link above. I hope you all will join us this week and play along!

Now before I get to the winner I want to share these adorable pictures my husband took of my oldest son and I before we left for our anniversary date. Happy Father's Day to the man who helped me create this wonderful little man!!!! We love you!

Alright ladies here is the number that Random Generator choose for me tonight.

At least $1 per stamp set goes to benefit the charity noted on the stamp set package. Kristal is donating to these charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time beleives this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

Tonight I want to show you the Food for Thoughts stamp set which benefits Kristal's signature charity Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children.
Here is a little bit of information about StoreFront Shelter:
Night Shelter
The Storefront Night Shelter is a 20-bed emergency shelter--the only one in San Diego specifically designed for homeless and runaway youth. The goal of the Storefront is to stabilize the lives of vulnerable youth.
  • Staff provide initial crisis assessment and intervention including provision of food, clothing, safe shelter and medical care referral.
  • Case management, drug and sexual exploitation education, and family mediation and counseling work to reunite youth with their family if it is safe and appropriate.
  • Special arts programming funded by Photocharity encourage expression through music, dance, painting and other media.
  • Referral to longer-term residential programs or transitional living programs when reunification is not possible.

StoreFront Shelter is so much more than just the little bit of information I have given you here. PLEASE go and checkout their website and see what ALL they do. Be warned some of the stories are sad, but they all have a happy ending because of StoreFront Shelter. It really is amazing what this organization does for kids! It has been a great inspiration to me to see how inspiring you to buy this particular stamp set will help these kids! Go here to see what they do! http://www.sdyouthservices.org/site/PageServer?pagename=storefront

Now on to the projects I've created for you guys :) I created several projects because I want to show you just how versatile this set is!

Project #1 was a fun little card I intend to send to my girlfriend this week.

I had to include this pic so you could see those fun Martini glasses that I made in the background :) They were not easy!
For project #2 I made some fun tags to add to gift bags. I like to have some pre-made tags for all occasions made up for easy additions to packages.

Now for hanging in this long I have a giveaway if you are still reading :) If you comment on this post (#1), tell me what your favorite stamp set is (#2) what your favorite project along the hop has been (#3) and become one of my newest followers (#4) you will be entered to win your very own set of Food for Thoughts. Make sure you stop back here tomorrow for another fabulous project I have made with her stamps :) So here is my first fun project...
Orange You a-peel-ling treat holder
Fruity candy yumminess

This is a fun little treat holder with those fabulous gummy sugared orange slices in it.  There are so many possibilities with this Food For Thoughts stamp set. And since I love giving gifts this set is going to get lots of use!

I have really enjoyed using it with Peachy Keen's faceless fruits and veggies Kristal's sentiments pair so nicely with these. I don't have the Back Yard Barbeque cricut cartridge yet but I think I could have some fun with that too!

Simply Sunday

Today is Simply Sunday day at Getting Cricky with K Andrew and this week is an exciting one for sure! Well they all are at Getting Cricky but this one is especially exciting because the DT all received our first set of K.Andrew Designs Art Stamps to create with. Now let me tell you how awesome these stamps are!! Kristal's stamps are made out of super thick photo polymer meaning you get a clean crisp image every time!  Kristal sent me the Food for Thought set to be creative with for this week.

This set is so versatile and I love that about it. You can make super cute little notes to stick in lunch boxes, birthday cards and even everyday cards to lift someones spirits.

Because Kristal has such a helping spirit she gives $1 from EVERY stamp set to a selected charity. This is not for a limited time it is for EVERY single stamp set she sells! The Food For Thoughts set goes to support Storefont Shelter for Homeless Children, Storefront Shelter is Kristal's signature charity in which homeless children are found, rescued, and reunited with their parents if possible. If not, they are found new homes and are given intervention so they do not return to the streets. This particular set is on sale in Kristal's store right now for $14.99 with FREE shipping for a short time. You can visit Kristal's online store at www.kandrewdesigns.com.

So do you guys want to see what my little mind came up with this week?? For my first card I made a quick little note that I can put in my husband's lunch one day when I send cupcakes with him.
You'll have to forgive the picture quality, we have had a rather gloomy couple of days here and I couldn't get a picture with good lighting.

For this fun little love note I just made an A2 size card front. Isn't that cupcake just tooo cute?? Its an image from the Silhouette store and it is drawn with some FABULOUS (!!) pens by Chomas Creation. Head over to Chomas Creations and check out the selection of pens and holders for both the Cricut and Silhouette. I'm so in love with these you will be seeing lots of creations with them!!!

I decided to make two projects again this week just to show you how versatile Kristal's stamp set is. I've taken several pictures of this card so you can see all the fun detail... The fun "smile" sentiment stamped on the front of this is from the Food for Thoughts set.

Some Fun Stuff!

Uhggg, why am I struggling with this post so much tonight??? Bear with me people, the words just aren't coming to me tonight, LOL! Hmmmm, maybe I'll start here. I've had a little blinkie posted on my sidebar for awhile and I've been bursting at the seems to show you all the layout I had published in Ginger Scraps Street magazine :) Yeah my FIRST publication ever!! :D
This LO is of my brother who went through a very long cowboy phase. As soon as I saw this paper from My Mind's Eye I knew it was made for this picture that my mom took. This photo was not staged it was a total accident, making it even more perfect! Since we live in town without a farm insight I thought the title was very appropriate. If you want to see the publication and all of the other wonderful artist who made some awesome western themed projects click  {HERE}. Thanks Ginger Street and Mrs. K Andrew!

Speaking of K. Andrew who wants to know who won my stamp giveaway??? First let me tell you how much I hate doing giveaways! Not because I dislike giving stuff away,  its not that at all, its because you all can't win and I feel like I am disappointing so many people! Believe me if it were up to me you all would get a little goodie because you are all winners! Ok back to the winner right, to make it all fair I used my personal random generator. His name is Ian and it gives us a fun activity during the day when he gets to participate, so drumroll please.........

Jessica who wrote: "4 - I love Kristal's humor, so I would love to see more stamps that express that side of her creativity and personality! I also love her inspiration. So more of her life quotes and analogies (and she has a lot of good ones) would make for some really awesome stamps!"

Congrats Jessica! Send me an email with the title K. Andrews stamp winner at
squirly_scrapper at hotmail.com with your address and the name of the stamp set that you would like me to send you :)

Alright my loyal peeps, that's all from me this evening. I'm going to go back and see if the frame that I have been impatiently waiting on drying is dry yet....Thanks for listening to my ramblings and don't forget to go join us this week at Getting Cricky for our Simply Sunday challenge our theme is vintage :)

K Andrew Designs Stamp Preview #2 & #3

Golly, golly please forgive me!! I missed getting my preview post for K Andrew's Designs Art Stamp set #2 up yesterday make sure you hop over to her blog to check out all her fun at Getting Cricky! Life has been a bit crazy around here the last couple of days. We are trying to get ready for a garage sale and today is also the last day of school for my husband who is a middle school principal. Plus today is my littlest baby, Ethan's,  1st birthday, Yay! I'm such a bad mom I don't even have a card made for him ;(

I did make 5 cards last night for my husband to take with him today, 2 retirement cards, 2 baby cards and 1 thank you card. But because it has been so crazy around here I didn't have time to get pictures take to show you before he had to take them, yipes!

Because I didn't get my post up last night I'm going to combine our preview for set #2 Positive Thoughts and set #3 Freedom isn't Free. Now don't get me wrong I love ALL of Kristal's new stamps but my favorite is Positive Thoughts. So let's get to it and take a peek :)

I can't wait to make some cards for all of my valued girlfriends with this set!!

This set will benefit Kristal's  SIGNATURE Charity: Storefront Shelter which takes the street 6 nights a week looking for homeless children in San Diego, CA. 86% of it's proceeds go directly to the children.

I just love that some of the profits from each of her sets will benefit a charity!

If you want to order Positive Thoughts click {HERE}!

And here is set #3 Freedom isn't Free. I have so many family in different branches of the military who are always asking for me to make cards for everyone in their units to choose from to send home. Kind of a general grab box so they have cards to send home (kind of hard to find a Hallmark store sometimes, lol) but I like to send a card for each person in the unit as well so this set will be perfect!!

Here is the charity that Kristal has chosen to donate to with this set.

Intrepid Fallen Heroes is a non-profiit organization that provides rehabilitative services to US military members who are severely disfigured from combat. (Imagine half a face blown off, or the loss of both legs). This is a charity organization very near and dear to Kristal as her husband is an active duty military man.

If you would like to order Freedom Isn't Free please click {HERE}.

I will be back tomorrow with one more surprise preview!!

Now don't forget about my giveaway too! I will pick one commenter for a set of their choice.  Here's what you have to do!

Fabulous Friends

As you all know I am on the Getting Cricky with K Andrew's design team and I am so excited about her new venture! This super sweet lady has designed some new stamp sets and let me tell you they are FABULOUS!  Kristal is taking pre-orders for all of her sets right now and you can see them all under the products tab on her blog or by clicking {HERE}. Because Kristal is so generous she is not only giving you FREE SHIPPING on all pre-orders she is donating $1 of her profits to a charity. I will  be doing a preview of the new stamp set for the next few days and at the end of the week I will pick a winner from all of my comments for a stamp set of your choice. Now, let's look at one of Kristal's new sets shall we????

Fabulous Friends by K Andrew's Designs

This set has sooooo many fun saying in it I can't wait to make some feel good cards for my girlfriends! Kristal will be donating $1 from the sale of this set to Cancer Angels. Kristal has done a lot of research about each of the causes she will be donating to in order to make sure the money will actually be going to help the people it needs to help. Here is a little information about Cancer Angels.

Taken from Kristal's Blog:
Cancer Angels is a non-profit organization that helps aid Level 4 cancer patients of ALL kinds. Many of these patients have such severe cancer and chemo that working or holding down a job is near impossible. Cancer angels gives them hope and monetary help while undergoing treatment in this stage. Imagine finding out you have cancer, and losing your job, home, and everything else because you can't work. Sometimes you just need an angel...and this is my way of becoming a silent angel (all of us together) to those who so desperately need some good news in the midst of such a storm.

Now here is what you need to do to qualify for the drawing. Each thing you do will give you an entry into the drawing. I will announce the winner on Sunday and that person will have 72 hours to contact me with your mailing information at *squirly_scrapper (at) hotmail (dot) com*. (sorry, I'm a busy momma and I don't have time to hunt people down)

*Become a follower of mine or leave me a comment telling me that you already are one.
*Tell me which stamp set you like best
*Send me one new follower who mentions your name in their comment saying you sent them
*Leave me a comment telling me what you would like to see in future sets from K Andrew's designs

Now that's four entries to win so hop to it girls and good luck!
