A 'Sweet' makeover and some scrapbooking

I'm back again with a couple projects for you. I was a *busy* girl yesterday. My hubby even called me a domestic diva, wowza! Along with all my SAHM duties I managed to clean the entire house, make a fabulous dinner for my family and make not one but TWO layouts and a card. Whew, I'm amazed just saying it all. I don't think I have done a scrapbook layout in a whole year but I was in the mood yesterday. So I seized the moment at nap-time and made this first one.
Little Man
I decided to pull out my unopened pack of Echo Park Little Boy collection (because I'm a paper hoarder, lol). I also used two different Unity Stamp Co. kits of the month. I just love how this layout turned out. I got my ispiration from Becky Fleck's PageMaps. I find the jpeg archive very helpful when ever I need some scrapbook inspiration.

Now after my little people were in bed I was still just full of energy so I went down to my room and created this second layout with some more papers from the same Echo park collection.
Fair Fun
I didn't use any stamps on this layout but I just love how easy Echo Park makes it to put a layout together with all their coordinating stickers!

For my last project of the evening I needed to make remake a card for a local swap I'm in. Here is how we work it. You get a new card once a week from a different person in the group each time and you have two weeks to remake the card you recieved and send it back to the person you got it from. I decided to use the new Against the Grain stamp set I WON (I never win anything) from Sweet Stamp Shop.
Challenge Remake
Now to show you all the fabulousness of this 'Sweet' remake here is a close up.
My 'Sweet' remake
I used different colors of my Momento inks, a Silhouette Store cut, Swovarski crystals, a little ribbon from my stash and because of my need to use all my paper wisely I used a scrap left over from my Echo Park layouts above. This may be one of my favorite of the Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed today's projects, remember I love to hear from you so I'd love it if you would leave me a comment on your favorite project :)

Feeling Green?

Hello my crafty friends. I'm back again today with a just a quick post. I got busy organizing in my craft room the other night and only got one card created. I again used only paper from my scrap bins. (which I organized :) I used a super cute stamp set from My Favorite Things called Something's Fishy. I love the sayings in this set and it was soooooo much fun to paper piece and color.

Feeling a little Green?
Well that's all for today but I hope to be back tomorrow with some more paper lovin :)

Sweet Shop Hero's and a Pintrest recreation

I'm so excited about the fun card I made last night. I was inspired by Savannah O'Gwynn over at www.savannahland2.blogspot.com to use my Sweet Shop Stamps Furry Friends and do some paper piecing. Go check out her blog! She is SUPER talented! Thanks Sav for the inspiration :) I used one of my DCVW small stacks for the prints on this card and I put the fox on an action wobble so it moves like a bobble head :) My 4 year old LOVES this card, makes me giggle a bit too!
Sweet Shop Super Hero's
You'll have to excuse the lighting on my pictures today. Its a cold, snowy and overcast day in Wisconsin today. Sure wish I was in sunny California for CHA this week. I'm so sad that I am missing it this year ;(

My second project is a recreation of something I saw on pintrest this week. I love all of the ideas that I get from that site even though it can be a bit addicting and time consuming, lol.
Bobby Pin Picture Frame
Its an old ugly picture frame that I upcycled into a pretty bobby pin holder for my night stand. One of my husbands worst pet peeves is finding my bobby pins in the carpet when they fall of my night stand. So I used some pretty paper from Mind's Eye's Fine and Dandy line (6x6 pad) and my new Ippity stamps from Unity that you can now purchase directly from Unity's website. A little bling and some twine and I think it turned out pretty cute :) Plus it will make my hubby happy, so bonus!

Now for one last project made yesterday.
Not all are lost
That fabulous tree is from the Silhouette Store and I painted it with my Twinkling H2O's. This picture really does NOT do the fabulousness of this any justice ;( Boo to cloudy days! The sentiment I used on this card is from Unity's line of Ippity stamps. I just love all the sentiments from Unity. Those fun little acorns are from Sweet Stamp Shops Furry Friends set.

Alright that's all I have for today but I'm back to my craft room for more fun. YAY, I love weekends!

Let's get together

I'm so excited to show you guys what I made last night with my new Sweet Stamp Shop stamps that came in the mail yesterday. Even my husband said he liked this card :) He always likes them but doesn't usually say much.

Let's have a Movie Night
I used Sweet Stamp Shop's Watching Tv set. How fun is tv, it reminds me of my Great Grandma's old counsel tv :) I used my Prisma pencils and Gamisol to color the tv and I painted with my stickles to make the popcorn look like it was buttered. The fun dimensional stickers are from Reminisce. I used papers from my scrap bin again on this card. That fun little tag is from Simple Stories 100 days of Summer line. I'm just tickled with this card!

Now the second card I made last night was with Motivet's Doraline line again. I'm just in love with this little illustration and they have a whole line with her. I can't wait until payday. This time I colored her in teal for a different look.
Friendship Doraline
My dp on this one if from Bo-Bunny and I'll admit this sheet was not from my scrap bin :) The Friendship sentiment is from a very old Close to My Heart set.

I hope you guys enjoyed today's creations. Let's see what nap time today produces :)

Nap Time = Play Time

Well I have been fortunate the past 2 days and been able to get into my craft room while my littlest guy is taking his nap :) I decided to use last night's playtime to practice my coloring with my prisma colored pencils. This has been quite a fear of mine because everyone in the crafty world is so good at it. Well like everything you get better with practice.....I'd love to hear what you think of my attempts. I wish we had better lighting today but it is snowing and overcast.

Lookin' Good
I used a Motivet stamp that I purchased about 6 months ago at a LSS. How could I resist her with my affection for squirrels? I think she is just adorable. The dp on this is all from my scrap bin but I do believe the pink dot is from Bo-bunny and the green pattern is MME. My sentiment stamp and hearts are from Unity Stamp Co. And the bling is from Kiaser. I added some Stickles to her fur and the snow to make it look a bit frosty.

This second card I made yesterday while Ethan was napping. I'm on a mission to use stamps from my stash that may not really be Valentine's and make them so.

Chicken Love
I used Art Impressions rubber stamps on this fun card. I am in love with the chicken wire background! This fun chicken would work well for many types of cards. I can see him used on "under the weather" cards, 21st Birthday cards, and "Thinking of You" cards. I really liked how he turned out on my Valentines day card though. I colored him using Copic markers (which I'm not so good at using). And again my dp is from my scrap stash. I'm pretty sure it is by October Afternoon though. My sentiment stamp is from the Angel Co.

Now for one last thing today. I have to show you folks what I have been obsessing about here at home for days! I found this through my friend Allie Gower over at www.welltrainedpaper.blogspot.com .  She informed me that it is from Stampers Storage. I can't wait to get one for myself, I have the go ahead after payday at the end of the month. This is going to look so nice in my craftroom! Eeeek! Go check them out and tell them that Allie and I sent you over! It retails for $90 and holds 60 ink pads and 60 markers.

Sunday Fun Day

I am on a card roll lately. Here are a few more that I made this weekend. These first two cards I made at a crop with a friend on Friday night. Both cards use Unity Stamps and the papers are from my scrap bins. YAY! I'm trying to use up my stash of scraps again. (I have a VERY long way to go.) The key on this first card is a Tim Holtz trinket.
You hold the key Unity card

Lovely You
This third card was this afternoons creation made for the Card Positioning System sketch challenge. I've been using a lot of challenges to keep myself going this year. I'm determined to keep my blog up to date now that the holidays are past. You can find their challenge {HERE}. I'm really happy with how this card turned out :)
Happiness Is
I used 2 different Unity Stamp Co. Kits of the Month for this card. The blanket is from the December 2010 KOTM and the Happiness banner that I stamped and fussy cut is from the October 2010 KOTM. My dp is an older Basic Grey collection called Oxford.

I hope you enjoyed today's creations, remember I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read your comments :)

I'm a crazy crafting girl this week :)

Hello all! I'm back again today with TWO more creations from last night for you. I have had so much energy since I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and started my CPAP. I had no idea a person was supposed to have this much energy. I have been so productive this past week!

Unity Stamp Co. seems to be my go to for a jump start in creativity this week too. My first project today is for their kit of the month challenge of gift wrapping or packaging. I wanted to create a box so off to my trusty new Silhouette Cameo I went. I am in love with this new toy! The software is so easy to use and if you have a subscription (which I highly recommend) it super cheap to get what ever you need. Today I used this box from the Silhouette store {box_C02976_1} along with my June 2011 Unity KOTM.

You're so easy to love gift box

I'm in a Valentine's mood

I'm back again today with two more cards for you. The first one is for my card swap group. I sure hope my gal loves this card as much as I do! Our theme for this week was "love".

Gate fold "love" themed card
I used Kraft card stock for my base and Making Memories Je t'adore collection from last year for this card. The romance tag is cut from the center of this piece with a spellbinders die and the butterfly is my favorite tonic punch. I like this card so much I don't want to give it away, lol.

My second card for today is for the Unity Stamp Co. itty bitty facebook challenge. All you have to do is use one of Unity's 228 itty bitty's and post it on their wall. I used Enjoy this day and the left over scraps from my Making Memories Je t'adore papers from the card above.

Just a short post today because nap time is over in our house already. I'll be back again tomorrow with more for you. If you get a chance don't forget to stop by Unity Stamp Co.'s wall and wish the owner Angela a Happy Birthday tomorrow. I heard that she may be having an open DT call after CHA. Keep an eye on their blog for more details. Good luck if you apply. I know I will be :)

Bringin' it back with Unity!

Time to start off the New Year with some of my favorite companies! Among many of my New Year's resolutions was to get back in the crafty groove. I seemed to have been zapped creatively lately so I pulled out some of my good ole favorites (with a little help from pintrest) and see what I could come up with. So armed with my binder of Unity Stamp Co. stamps, a selection of My Mind's Eye papers and a color inspiration I went to work. Here is what I came up with for your viewing pleasure.

First I want to show you my color inspiration found on Pintrest. (A serious addition I tell you!)
Color inspiration
Now isn't that cake just amazingly beautiful? LOVE!

Here is what it inspired.....
Do all things with UNITY love!
I think this may be one of my new favorite color combos. My Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye's Stella Rose Collection and its all from the same 12X12 sheet. Front side and back side :) Those fabulous shapes are made with a Martha Stewart boarder punch, a My Favorite Things dienamics die and a Spellbinders die. My pretty purple bling is from Want To Scrap, the banner on the bottom is had cut by me and the fabulous stamps are from none other than Unity Stamp Co. (they are always my go to stamps!).  Oh yes and lets not forget the bow. I made that with my Bow Easy, since I have bought this simple little tool from My Favorite Things online store my bows are ALWAYS beautiful. I will be linking this card to the Unity Facebook Challenge. All you have to do is post a Unity creation using any one of their 228 itty bitty stamps to their FB page for a chance to win 10 of their wonderful stamps on Angela's birthday :) Here is a link to the itty bitty I chose to use today called Hello My Friend.

Now because I'm also on a use up my scraps kick I made another card with my leftovers.

Sympathy's said perfectly with K Andrew's Designs
Sorry about the lighting in this picture I was struggling for a good pic on this one. I used the same products on this card with the addition of a stamp from K Andrew Design's Sympathy Sayings set. This particular card was more about technique for me. I love the colors of distress inks but I don't always want the distress look. So to achieve my color without the look I first stamped my Unity stamp with versa mark ink then layered my distress ink over it. Then to take the look up one level I heat embossed it with clear powder to add some texture.

I hope you all enjoyed my cards for today.  I hope to craft some more this weekend, lets cross our fingers :)
