Happy Monday! I certainly hope it is much warmer where ever you are. I think our high today wasn't even above 0. They are even sharing school delays and cancellations for the morning. -42 with the windchill. No thank you! So to warm the spirit here are a few cards I made the other night :)

I think this first one will be my hubbies Valentines Day card.

Love you forever

My grandmother gave me a kitchenaid mixer that she never used so I wanted to make a card to send off to her.

Thank You
These least two cards tonight were "Honey, I need a couple of cards. Can you help me out?" cards. The first for a school that a group of my husbands teachers visited.

And last but not least a wedding card for a fellow teacher of husbands. I used some 3 Girl JAM ribbon that I'm completely in love with. Her prices are awesome and its all hand dyed!

Stay warm everyone!

JUGS Challenge #172

Hi all, I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! Mine went way too fast and I'm just popping in tonight with a quick post. I stumbled across a challenge blog today that I thought I would try my hand at. They have a color challenge this week.
Just us Girls
Lime green is one of my all time favorite colors and the picture frames were super trendy. And like a flash I had an inspiration :) To the Sweet Stamp Shop stamps of course.
Chemistry

I used two different sets from Sweet Stamp Shop. Sweet Alpha Doodles and Chemistry

Make it a great week everyone!

Hi Everyone! I'm back after a relaxing vacation to South Carolina. The weather was beautiful while I was there 75 degrees :) We sat outside without jackets in January, a rarity for a cold climate girl. It was almost rude when I got off the plane in Wisconsin and it was only 20, brrr! There is something about seeing your best friend that just rejuvenates your soul and makes you feel sane and refreshed again. We did some shopping, took a class at the local scrapbook store and most importantly enjoyed each others company.   THANK YOU to my hubby for that.

Well enough about my vacation and on to the crafting, that's what you are here for right? :)  While I was traveling I had to have something to keep me busy so I took some crocheting with me. Here is what made for my BFF and her daughter while I was there.

I modified this pattern by adding snaps to the flowers so that they could switch them and it would match whatever coat they were wearing.  They made up quite quickly and I could still visit while I was working on them. Not bad for my first crochet project ever! Here is my model Ellie with the different flowers.

Ellie is so fun and precious she couldn't wait for our fashion show!

You can find this hat pattern on craftsy. {HERE}.  I will warn you that the sizes are off on it. I made the 1-3 year size for myself because the adult one is HUGE, it ends up more like a slouchy hat.

I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend and stay tuned for some super exciting news!

Love Blocks

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all have had a great weekend. Today I am going to share my latest home decor project with you. With all the Christmas decorations taken down and put away our mantel was looking a little bare and my husband asked if I would make something to spruce it up. So he cut me some blocks and from scrap wood he had laying around and I got to work.

Here's how it all started.

I decided to use some of my ink sprays which I'm never quite sure what to do with. I'm not usually happy with how they turn out on projects, either there is too much ink spray or too little. Anyway this time they turned out just right :)

My handy dandy trying tool
Then I got to work assembling the letter plates for my blocks. I used my CAMEO to cut my letters. Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my Cameo? It cuts like butter and my paper never tears, not to mention how easy it is to shadow and object in its software. Sigh....

Letter plates
And finally here is what the final project looks like after a coat of mod podge. I am so happy with how this turned out!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week! I'm off to South Carolina to see one of my best friends. My sweet, sweet hubby bought me a plane ticket to go visit her for Christmas. I am beyond excited :)

Mission: Use scraps

How many of you have a bin of scraps that is OVERFLOWING? I know that I usually do because I refuse to get rid of any pretty paper.  I've gotten better over the years but obviously not good enough.

I can't throw it away, but at least its organized.
So today I challenged myself to only use paper from my scrap bins to create a card. I wanted something fun and bright so I went a pickin'. The papers jumped out at me :) I love it when that happens.

Here is what I came up with:
Scrapbin Creation
I love how this turned out. A few punches and some ribbon do the trick every time. See all that pretty layered ribbon? I wanted to also use up some of my ribbon. I may have a bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to ribbon. Maybe we'll just say I'm a fanatic because it makes me feel better, lol.

No I don't have a problem.
I will be adding today's card creation to the 3 Girl JAM challenge #9 anything goes challenge. I know it's not their ribbon but the rules say you only have to use ribbon on your project :) I think I can handle that! You should go check out their challenge blog and all the cute projects and inspiration they have to offer.

Well off to see what else I can come up with for the evening! Happy 2013 everyone!
